The Story of Us....

So I had the opportunity to go down a teach a class for Lisa G. who runs Scrappers Anonymous Getaways.  This particular crop was held at the Flanders Hotel in Ocean City NJ.  It was my first time at one of her events and I have to say, Wow!  What a nice group of women and a relaxed fun atmosphere.  My class went well and I had some really nice women with me.  We laughed and told stories about our sometimes crazy lives ; )  Anyway, Lisa has a Facebook page and if you are in the area and what to check on what her next event will be, look her up, or shoot me an email.  I'll be happy to let you know her schedule.  Now, for a little crafty tip.  I found this idea somewhere and I wish I could credit the person that I lifted it from.  I will be on the hunt for who to give credit to!  So, this happy little tip was something I used to make an anniversary gift for my husband.  He is painfully hard to buy for and I am forever racking my brain to come up with something special to surprise him with on holidays and special occasions.  So I found a project ( a bit different than what I have done)  that inspired me to make this.  I collected up the all of the cards that my husband and I had given eachother while we were dating.  They were tucked in boxes and various drawers and boxes around the house. I made a cover using some paper that I bought (wait for it).... twelve years ago, canvas, and Claudine Helmuth's Glue and Seal. I used a heavy duty punch to make holes in the cards and stacked them.  I then wrapped the canvas cover around the cards and bound them all together using two large jump rings.  This is just a quick idea to get the mementos out of the drawers and shoe boxes.  I hope it one day shows my son how his Mommy and Daddy became an "US"!  Have a wonderful Sunday : )

Wow, has it really been this long.....

WE'RE BACK!!!  It has been forever since we have posted and now it is a whole new year.  Happy 2012 to you all. For us, 2011 had its ups and downs.  We moved into our new location, as you all know, and we are very happy there.  It was a great move and we love being with our friends from One Little Spark.  Our year closed out with some sadness as well.  Just three days before Christmas, my beloved grandmother, passed away at the young age of 94.  She was an amazing women and I miss her terribly. RIP Grammy, we love you : )  Now, on to 2012.  I spent New Year's Eve without my husband but for a very good reason.  He had the privilege of watching our good friend Mark Howe play in the the Winter Classic Alumni Hockey game.  He was a bit torn, being a NY Ranger fan, but watching them play their old rivals the Philadelphia Flyers was a great time.  The highlight was watching Mark score on a penalty shot and request the puck for his soon to be granddaughter (who has since been born : ) )  After the game, my husband attended a reception with the team, and then headed back to the hotel to hang out with his friends. To his surprise, a bunch of his "hockey heros" came strolling into the hotel bar.  He got a chance to talk with all of them and take some photos.  He said it was like fantasy camp!  So he got to have an experience of a lifetime, and i get the wife of the year award.  All in all, a win-win situation!  And now, on to some crafty news.  Have you checked out any of the new CHA reviews?  I really like what I have seen so far.  Top on my list is the Websters Pages Sunday Picnic Collection and Kaisercrafts Sweet Nothings.  I can't wait to see what else in store for us.  At the store, we recently got in, Kissing Booth by Basic Grey.  For those of you who haven't seen it, check it out, it's really cute.  There are some cool new tools we've gotten as well.  The Sew Ribbon  and Sew Stamper from We are Memory Keepers.  There is the Epiphany Crafts embellishment maker, which is super easy to use and makes adorable matching embellishments for your layouts and cards.  Well, that is all for now.  Hope you are all well and keeping crafty in the new year!  ~Colleen
